Rance joins Dover on loan

Gillingham midfielder Dean Rance will spend the next month with Conference South side Dover Athletic after agreeing a loan deal.

The 20 year old has struggled to break into the Gillingham first team, having made just the one appearance for the club, coming off the bench in the 3-2 FA Cup win at Bournemouth earlier in the season.

Rance will now join up with former Gills striker Nicky Forster at Perry’s Crabble and is expected to go straight into their squad for Saturday’s game with Salisbury.

His exit from Priestfield follows on the back of the news that Gillingham have secured the loan signing of Reading winger Jordan Obita on a month’s youth loan.

Rance becomes the first Gillingham player to leave Priestfield on loan this month with the likes of Matt Lawrence, Dennis Oli and Callum Davies also available.
